Kiri and Peter - the daughter/father cheese-monger team at The Cheese Shop of Salem (MA) have put together another cheese tasting excursion for our group. During this zoom event, they will present a new selection of six delicious cheeses from some of their favorite producers. You will hear the stories behind each cheese and why Kiri and Peter are such fans, delve into tasting nuances (if you saw our first event, do you remember the crazy "cheese cave" cheese tasting technique?), and have fun discussing pairings and serving ideas. If you plan to purchase a cheese tasting kit, you will need to order it from a separate link that you will receive in your confirmation email. The deadline for ordering the tasting kit is October 11th.
Kiri and Peter will be sipping away as they present the new set of cheeses, They have picked two of their favorite "anytime" wines - a rich red and a crisp white - both from southern France. The red is a 2019 Kermit Lynch, Languedoc Rouge and the white is a 2020 Domaine Felines Jourdan, Picpoul de Pinet. We will provide a separate link for MA residents to purchase the suggested wines from the from The Cheese Shop if they wish.

Cheese Tasting Kit Details
We have partnered with The Cheese Shop of Salem to provide special cheese tasting kits with delivery for this event. You won't find this kit anywhere else! The deadline for ordering the tasting kit is Oct. 11th. The tasting kit includes 1/8 to 1/4 lb of each of the six cheeses plus an accompaniment. While the cheese ships with ice packs in insulated containers, the cheeses may arrive at room temperature. This does not hurt the cheeses in any way. The only danger is that the cheeses may get eaten before class starts! If possible, please take the cheeses out of the fridge at least 1 hour before the event.
It is also suggested to have a beverage on hand to try pairing with the cheeses. Suggestions include wine (especially sparkling), low-bitterness beer, whisky, cider, and tea (from herbal to full-bodied black).
