Join the Cornell Club of Boston and the Cornell Club of New Hampshire as we explore Appledore Island, the site of Shoals Marine Laboratory, operated by Cornell and the University of New Hampshire.
Enjoy a boat ride from Portsmouth, NH to the island in Kittery, ME. This is a great opportunity to learn about Cornell University's marine science field station right here in New England while spending time with fellow Cornellians! Learn about research, education, and the island's rich history as a colonial fishing station and home to turn-of-the-century artists and poets, like Celia Thaxter and Childe Hassam. We'll have opportunities to meet current Cornell students living and studying on the island for the summer. Enjoy a buffet lunch with the island community and cruise back to Portsmouth, NH in the late afternoon, returning around 4 pm.
